Faculty

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½

The ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ School of Nursing is seeking to hire an open rank faculty position for the BSN program. Course assignments vary according to program needs and faculty’s area of expertise. The position is on a full-time, 9-month contract and requires a physical presence. This is not a remote position. This position will begin August 2025.

Minimum Requirements:    Faculty must have a minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited institution. If a master’s degree is in a discipline other than nursing, the faculty member must submit evidence of acceptable graduate level coursework in nursing, which includes learning principles for adult education, nursing curriculum development, administration, and evaluation. A minimum of five years’ experience in nursing and a current unencumbered nursing license in the state of North Dakota, or the ability to obtain licensure is required.

Preferred Requirements:

+ Preference given to applicants with current experience in mental health &/or maternal/child health &/or teaching experience at the college/university level.

+ ACLS/PALS certification, or willingness to obtain, is a plus.

Responsibilities:  Didactic teaching for on-campus undergraduate nursing courses,  lab instruction, and leading clinical experiences in the community setting is required.

As directed by the NDBON, program faculty must:

  1. Plan, implement, evaluate, and update the program and curriculum using a written plan;
  2. Develop, implement, evaluate, and update policies for student admission, progression, retention, and graduation in keeping with the policies of the sponsor institution;
  3. Participate in academic advisement and guidance of students;
  4. Provide theoretical instruction and practice experiences;
  5. Select, monitor, and evaluate preceptors and the student learning experience as defined in section 54-03.2-04-07;
  6. Evaluate student achievement of curricular outcomes related to nursing knowledge and practice;
  7. Evaluate student learning outcomes and participate in the evaluation of program outcomes; and
  8. Participate in activities that facilitate maintaining the faculty members’ own nursing competence and professional expertise in the area of teaching responsibility.

Faculty members are also expected to participate in program committees and campus wide committees.

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½

Unruh School of Character in Leadership

 The ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ seeks a dynamic and innovative leader to serve as the Director of the Center for Leadership Development at the Unruh School of Character in Leadership (USCIL). This role involves collaborating with the USCIL Executive Director to design and build a robust, innovative leadership development center providing non-traditional leadership training for individuals, organizations, and communities. The Director will oversee the design and facilitation of conferences, workshops, certificates, not-for-credit experiences, seminars, and more.

 

This position is a full-time, 12-month staff position eligible for the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ benefit package.  The position is in-person working in Fargo, North Dakota.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the USCIL Executive Director to create and develop a comprehensive center for non-traditional leadership development.
  • Develop and facilitate leadership training programs for diverse audiences, including individuals, organizations, and communities.
  • Organize and manage conferences, workshops, seminars, and other educational events.
  • Create and administer certificate programs and non-credit experiences.
  • Foster partnerships with external organizations to enhance the center’s offerings and reach.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of leadership development programs and make improvements as needed.
  • Manage the center’s budget and resources efficiently.
  • Promote the center’s activities and achievements through various communication channels.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Leadership, Education, Organizational Development).
  • Proven record of developing and facilitating non-traditional training programs.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical doctorate in leadership.
  • Experience in higher education or a similar setting.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in leadership development.

Research and Instruction Librarian

The ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Research and Instruction Librarian who will develop, coordinate, and deliver information literacy instruction, lead the libraries’ research help and outreach efforts, and support the university community’s academic and research needs. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and flexible individual who enjoys building relationships with students, faculty, and staff. This full-time, 12-month role holds faculty status (Instructor or Assistant Professor), reports to the Director of Libraries, and is located in Jamestown, ND. One evening a week (6pm-10pm, during the school year only) and occasional travel to the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½â€™s Fargo, ND, site will be required.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the UJ Libraries’ information literacy instruction program including
    • Developing and delivering information literacy instruction sessions and workshops to students and faculty.
    • Collaborating with faculty to integrate information literacy into the curriculum.
    • Teaching sections of the library’s 1-credit research skills course, either in-person or online.
  • Provides research help and reference services to the UJ community, especially students and faculty
  • Creates and maintains online guides, tutorials, and other instructional materials.
  • Supports the libraries’ outreach and engagement efforts, including
  • Maintaining the libraries’ online presence through the website, social media accounts, and other avenues as suited.
  • Creating, promoting, and running events in the library or around campus.

Other Duties:

  • Assists with managing and troubleshooting access to the libraries’ digital resources, including enhancing the usability and user experience of search tools and digital resources.
  • Collaborates with faculty and instructional designers to support the use of open educational resources.
  • Participates in university committees and shared governance as well as regional and/or national professional activities.
  • Contributes to library assessment and reporting initiatives.

 

Job Requirements:

The appointed individual will have:

  • An MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA accredited program (completed prior to start date).
  • Ability to work independently and effectively across organizational lines and in collaboration with a variety of individuals and groups to complete projects and resolve problems.

The ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ School of Nursing seeks a dynamic, student-oriented nursing faculty member to join our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This open-rank position (Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor, based on qualifications and experience) involves teaching nursing courses, mentoring students, and contributing to the department’s mission of preparing well-rounded, patient-centered nurses. The position requires a physical presence in Fargo, North Dakota, and is not remote.

Minimum Qualifications:

•  Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution preferred.  Consideration would be given to candidates with a Master’s in Nursing with the expectation to work toward a Doctorate degree in the immediate future.

•  Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota or eligibility to obtain licensure by the start date.

•  Minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience required.

•  Preferred experience in nursing education, including didactic, clinical, or simulation-based teaching with demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and student mentorship

•  Preferred familiarity with CCNE accreditation standards and nursing curriculum development.

The ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½’s PhD in Clinical Research Program invites applications for a full-time core faculty member to join our growing interdisciplinary team. This online, asynchronous doctoral program serves adult learners who already hold advanced clinical or research degrees (e.g., MD, PharmD, DNP, MPH, MS), and who are committed to advancing knowledge and practice in clinical research.

We seek a faculty colleague who brings hands-on experience in clinical research, a record of scholarship, and a passion for mentoring adult learners in a virtual environment. The successful candidate will contribute to course instruction, student advising, curriculum development, and research mentorship.

This is a 12-month, full-time faculty appointment with benefits.  Faculty meet and advise students, attend meetings, and deliver instruction entirely online.  This position requires minimal travel.

Staff

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½

The ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ seeks a Fine Arts Admissions Counselor to work within the Admissions Department with a focus solely on students pursuing choir, band, theatre, speech, debate, and their related majors. This goals-based position operates much like traditional Admissions recruitment and will be expected to communicate regularly with prospective students, travel, and walk students through the enrollment funnel.

The Head Coach serves as the program director responsible for the development and oversight of UJ Esports. Responsibilities include managing operations, recruiting, practice/competition, budget, overseeing work-study students, and handling facilities and equipment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the management of team social media accounts, streaming accounts and assisting with intramural sports. The position reports to the Director of Club and Intramural Programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Esports program, including daily operations, scheduling, and coordination of competitions.
  • Recruit and retain student-athletes.
  • Manage the team budget and ensure effective use of resources.
  • Supervise and oversee work-study students.
  • Manage and maintain Esports facilities and equipment.

Position Tracks:

This assistantship offers two tracks for a graduate student to choose from: the Administrative Track or the Teaching Track. Each track provides specialized experience, preparing graduate students for specific professional roles within academia or administration. There is only one graduate position opening, so the candidate’s interest, skill set, and how the tracks will best impact the candidate’s studies will determine the selection and which track is utilized. Administrative Track Responsibilities:

The Graduate Assistant in the Administrative Track will support the daily operations within the Department of Computing, Design, and Communication, collaborating with university leadership on administrative and organizational initiatives. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
